About Briermere Farms

I redesigned Briermere Farms into a complete online ordering experience focused on scheduled farm pickups.

Transforming a traditional farm bakery into a modern digital storefront

Briermere Farms is a family-owned fruit farm and bakery on Long Island's North Fork. I led the product design of a complete website redesign, replacing a basic informational site with a structured ecommerce experience supporting online ordering, scheduled pickup, customer accounts, and an administrative dashboard.

Problem Statement

The existing website lacked the structure needed to support modern online ordering and business operations.

The original website served primarily as a brochure with minimal navigation and limited online functionality.

  • Customers couldn't easily browse products by category.

  • Ordering for pickup lacked a structured flow.

  • Important information was scattered across multiple pages.

  • There was no customer account system for managing orders.

  • Staff had no centralized dashboard to manage products, orders, schedules, or customer inquiries.

  • The business needed a scalable foundation while preserving its handmade, family-owned identity.

Strategy & Process

I focused on simplifying the customer journey while creating efficient tools for daily store operations.

I owned the product design process from information architecture through high-fidelity design.

  • Competitive Analysis: Studied bakery, café, and ecommerce experiences to identify interaction patterns while avoiding outdated designs common within the industry.

  • Product Strategy: Defined the website around scheduled pickup instead of delivery, aligning the experience with business operations.

  • Information Architecture: Organized products into clear categories including pies, baked goods, and jams & jellies with dedicated landing pages.

  • User Flows: Designed complete flows for browsing, product discovery, authentication, checkout, payment selection, pickup scheduling, and order management.

  • Wireframes: Structured each page before moving into visual design to validate navigation and content hierarchy.

  • UI Design: Designed responsive pages for the storefront, customer account, checkout, search experience, and product detail pages.

  • Dashboard Design: Created a complete administrative dashboard for managing products, categories, orders, pickup schedules, customers, users, settings, FAQs, and sales.

  • Branding: Refined the visual identity through logo exploration, color palette selection, typography, iconography, and supporting brand elements.

  • Landing Page Design: Developed a storytelling homepage showcasing the farm's heritage, handcrafted products, seasonal offerings, special orders, gift cards, and pickup process.

Solution, Impact & Learnings

The redesign connected customer ordering, business management, and brand storytelling into one cohesive digital experience.

The final product extended far beyond an ecommerce website by supporting both customers and store administrators.

  • Introduced structured product discovery through categories, filters, and search.

  • Simplified checkout with scheduled pickup, account management, and saved payment methods.

  • Designed a scalable admin dashboard for managing daily operations from a single interface.

  • Strengthened the brand by combining the farm's history with a more contemporary digital identity.

  • Created reusable UI patterns and consistent components that can support future product expansion.

  • This project reinforced the importance of designing operational tools alongside customer-facing experiences, ensuring both sides of the business evolve together.
